Born and raised in a small town, she faced early adversity, including a turbulent family life and personal trauma that left a lasting impact on her self-esteem. Despite facing numerous obstacles, she pursued a degree in social work, driven by a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others and overcome the psychological challenges she and others face.
After completing her education at Rutgers University, Cherokee gained experience working in various roles within the mental health field. With fifteen years of experience she has worked with diverse populations and attended clinical trainings in EMDR, CBT, and Somatic interventions. She is a published author (Rain To Reign), (Rain To Reign:The Workbook) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Cherokee is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) and an ADHD-CCSP.
